Sherwood Forest is actually named after Sherwood, one of our old gun support crew members, not from the tails of Robin Hood.
This paintball field is generally only used during Skirmish’s big games like ION. Depending on the year, it is usually either the Allied or German base. When used as a base, one of the teams has to build and maneuver some of the bunkers on the map to face towards the hood or the most likely avenue of attack.
When playing this map always go for the top or the side furthest from the hood. The makeup of this map is interesting because the middle of the field is dominated by several huge fallen trees that have created a meadow of pricker bushes in the middle. The far side of the paintball field has a old rockwall created by the farmers years ago and that acts as the boundary. The rocks have hampered some of the thorn bush growth and is always my avenue of attack.
That being said I don’t play this field often unless it’s Invasion of Normandy. So please post your strategies in the comments below.
